The purpose of this privacy policy is to give you information on how CHeKT, LLC (“CHeKT”)  collects, holds, transfers and/or processes (collectively referred to as “uses”) your personal data through our direct or indirect contractual relationship with you, what kind of rights you have regarding the above personal data, and the consents or agreements for the above “use” of such.

This privacy policy becomes our commitment to you for the purpose of protecting the security and privacy of your personal data, and covers the following areas:

CHeKT is the controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as “CHeKT“, “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy policy).

“Personal data” and “personal information” are data about an identified or identifiable individual received by CHeKT or by the partners (i.e., Dealers) of CHeKT, and recorded in any form.

CHeKT may collect, hold, transfer and/or process your personal data including the following:

  • Name [first name, middle name, last name, username or similar identifier, title].
  • Contact Information [billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers].
  • Transaction Data [details of products and services you have purchased from us].
  • Technical Data [internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website].
  • Profile Data [your username and password, purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses].
  • Usage Data [information about how you use our website, products and services].
  • Marketing and Communications Data [your communication preferences and other communication details with CHeKT].
  • Video [We store and maintain video from your security system as part of our service. We store for 30 days from the date of occurrence all video events that result from a system alarm or are by the design of the system installer for the purpose of providing video alarm verification for your security].

We do not intentionally collect any Sensitive Personal Data (race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data).

3. When we collect your personal data

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

  • We share video from your security with alarm monitoring centers, contacts you designate, and police or emergency response service teams.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

6. International Transfers

We share your personal data within the CHeKT Group. This will involve transferring your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to US.

7. Data security

We retain your personal data permanently in order to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. We retain your video data for 30 days.

9. Your legal rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data.

  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of
  • The right to request to erase your personal data where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data, except we are not obliged to do so if we need to retain such data in order to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time if we rely on your consent to process your data. This includes cases where you wish to opt out from marketing communications that you receive from us.

No fee usually required.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

What we may need from you:

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

Time limit to respond:

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.

CHeKT commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. UK, EU and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints should first contact CHeKT’s Data Protection Officer.
