The Security Challenge
The company’s existing alarm system only protected the interior of the building. Their outdoor yard — where high-value equipment was stored — was completely exposed. Cameras on site could only record incidents after the fact, offering no deterrence or prevention. After repeated theft losses and little help from their current alarm provider, the business owner sought a better solution.
Specifically, the company wanted a security partner that could integrate its existing cameras with its alarm system, rather than start from scratch.
Our Partner’s Approach
Guardian, a CHeKT-certified dealer, confirmed that this was possible and explained how exterior alarm zones could be created to detect and verify activity after business hours. Together, Guardian and the client designed a hybrid system that combined the existing alarm panel with new outdoor detection zones, IP cameras, and two CHeKT Video Control Panels. This setup ensured that every triggered zone delivered instant live video to the monitoring center, allowing operators to confirm events in real time.
To strengthen deterrence, Guardian connected two CHeKT IP audio speakers to the panels, enabling operators to issue live warnings to intruders. Ten new IP cameras were added to cover the yard, while the company’s existing analog cameras and interior zones were fully integrated for seamless coverage inside and out.

The CHeKT Outcome
With CHeKT Visual Verification in place, operators could confirm intrusion attempts in real time, reducing false dispatches and ensuring police prioritized calls as crimes in progress. The business owner reported that theft attempts stopped and praised the system’s audio deterrence, as well as the monitoring team’s ability to filter out accidental triggers caused by employees.
