The burglars spent over two hours on site, breaking into the showroom through a side door, loading two UTVs onto a trailer, and fleeing before police could respond.
Traditional alarms alone weren’t enough. By the time authorities arrived, the damage was done. The dealership required a solution that could detect intrusions in real-time, verify alarms promptly, and facilitate a rapid police response to prevent future losses.
Our Partner’s Approach
A CHeKT-certified integrator, Guardian Alarm, collaborated with the dealership to design a proactive visual security solution. The upgrades included:
- Alarm panel upgrade: DMP XR150 with a zone expander for new exterior detection
- Video integration: Existing IP cameras paired with showroom motion sensors and entry doors
- Additional coverage: 5 new IP cameras for exterior motion detection
- Thermal perimeter protection: 5 Sightlogix thermal cameras covering the 10-acre lot
- Audio deterrence: 4 Axis IP speakers for live talk-down messaging
Proactive detection zones were paired with exterior cameras to monitor the perimeter, while interior cameras ensured full coverage of the showroom and repair garages. Operators at the monitoring center could now verify alarms as they happen, prevent false dispatches, and ensure a high-priority police response during an incident.
The CHeKT Outcome
With the upgraded system in place, the dealer now has remote visual alarm monitoring through CHeKT. The owner can arm both the interior and exterior business areas via a keypad or mobile app, activating all thermal and traditional detection zones.
When monitoring agents detect after-hours activity, they issue a friendly announcement: “This location is currently closed. For your safety, the site is under live remote monitoring. Please return during normal business hours.”
The dealership now enjoys full confidence in its security setup. Any suspicious activity triggers immediate attention and a priority police response, ensuring equipment and property are protected around the clock.
