The Security Challenge
Construction sites are a magnet for theft — no fences, no power, no internet, and valuable materials lying out overnight. A national home builder was losing equipment and supplies, causing costly delays. They needed a system that was mobile, self-powered, and capable not only of recording but also of actively deterring crime and responding to real-time threats.
Our Partner’s Approach
Integrator Solar Surveillance deployed mobile, solar-powered security trailers equipped with four IP cameras, motion sensors, an outdoor IP speaker, and a CHeKT Video Control Panel. These trailers were strategically placed at problem areas across multiple job sites, where Optex motion sensors created detection zones to trigger alarms and video events.
Upon detection, the CHeKT Video Control Panel sent real-time alerts to Solar Surveillance’s 24-hour monitoring station, providing operators with live video access within five seconds. Operators could then issue audio warnings through the IP speaker, activate LED lights to deter intruders, dismiss false alarms from employees or animals, or dispatch police with priority response.
During incidents, they engaged directly with the construction manager through CHeKT VerifySMS Video, ensuring informed decision-making and tighter site security.
The CHeKT Outcome
The CHeKT Visual Verification system gave the builder real-time “eyes on the site” and sharply reduced overnight theft. Inventory and equipment remained protected, projects stayed on schedule, and managers had confidence that every site was being actively monitored and backed by priority police response.
